Christian merchandise isn’t abundant as it should be today. Back in the day every corner store owner was a regular church member and usually had wide assortments that you could gift the pastor’s family with or just as a quick friendly hello gift to someone that you see or interact with every day. Aside from the major Christian specialty stores that exist there isn’t much Varity with Christian merchandise in other popular retail stores or even the bigger ones such as department stores. Even during religious holidays such as Christmas, Easter and even some of the Jewish ones the Christian merchandise is a bit lacking.

“When I first got out of school I wanted to open up my own business. I wanted something that would address the needs and wants of the people in the community and also something I was passionate about. Opening my small, family run Christian store felt like the right decision. I felt it in my spirit that this was and where God has chosen me to do and be. I noticed when I was doing my business plan that there were less than five Christian stores in my whole area! I think more Christians should stand up and make bigger presences in the community. The churches are always doing an excellent job of that but we need to support them!” Kristi Campbell says referring to her views on Christian merchandise and how it plays a part in the every day environment that surrounds her.

A good way to support local Christian business is to shop at them during the Christmas and Easter rush. I know it may look appealing to go for the cheaper prices at places like Wal-Mart or K-Mart but you have to also remember that in 9 out of 10 cases some of the profit from the sales at local Christian stores goes right back into funding various Christian programs that help keep poor off the streets, makes sure little kids have toys during the holidays and that everyone in the community never has to go hungry. We want to help and support everyone in their time of need.
