Christian Book and Gift is a new game that has been trickling down through the many churches of the area. The game is simple, easy to follow and, of course, a lot of fun. To start, the game is better played with a large group. Church events, Bible studies or even weekday evening classes would be a great chance to play this new and exciting game.
First you want to make sure that everyone is sitting in a large circle, or if you prefer class room style. Make sure each player has a Bible and is pretty well verse in the Word. This game could be play with a youth group but some of the rules would have to be tweaked a bit.
Once everyone has the proper tools they need (the Bible) and the seating arrangement is complete you guys can move onto the next step. Step number three is when the Ring leader (the person in the middle of the circle or in front of the class) will then say a Bible scripture or parable and then it’s a race to see who can answer what book that it came from in the Bible.
This can be done with just individuals or if your group is really big you can split people off into teams. Do it how ever many scriptures you want and as soon as one person or team reaches the number goal then you gift that person or team. The gift is usually something that will help them in their Christian walk and make them more willing to learn and grow in Christ.
It’s a really fun game that everyone will enjoy and it can also unite and encourage bonding between the members of the congregation. It can also be used a great learning tool. If people are having a hard time remembering where they can find things in the Bible this exercise will help them get familiar with the all the books of the Bible and the great stories and history that each one holds. Try it next time at church!
